Its sad 😦 to know that there will be no more AutoPatcher from now on 😦 They got “told off” by Microsoft on 29th of August.
I knew this app when I was in second year. My friend Paige who works @ ProSouth told me about AutoPatcher and how useful its when you need to do a lot of format and reinstall of Windows. AutoPatcher have proven to be one of my favourite and most widely used apps ever.
Here is Microsoft’s reason for taking down AutoPatcher:
Windows Update for pre-Vista versions of Windows can now be accessed using Firefox and that the concern at Microsoft had more to do with the possible malicious code that could be redistributed with certified Microsoft updates.

Looks like I have to go back to the old days where I have a folder full of patches and have to install them one by one……(you will know why I have to do this if you use a dial up connection like me 😦 )
P.S. When I got my assignments and exams out of the way, I will try to write a script to installs the patches 🙂
