I have just posted another idea on the Dell IdeaStorm website…hope this one will be more popular. If you like my idea…please vote on the website…thank you 🙂
Nowadays laptops are getting more and more powerful…but powerful CPUs and graphics cards are making our machines “hotter” than ever before. If you are using your computer for things like browsing the Internet or word processing only, you probably have a very low chance of having the “overheat” issue. But if you live in a place that gets really hot during the summer / you play games all the time…you will probably have experience some sort of overheat problems. Even if you don’t have any issues with the heat inside your laptop…it’s always a good idea to keep your laptop cold. For a start…the fan inside your laptop will not be used as often as before…your working environment will be a little bit quieter…your battery will also last longer since your fan doesn’t start very often.
All this sounds great…but how can we achieve the goal? Well…it turns out that people have all kinds of solutions already: by putting something at the back of their laptop so room is created between your laptop and the table. There are even “cooling pads” that you can buy which helps to cool down your laptop. For me, I put two erasers at the back of my laptop. By doing this, the fan on my laptop doesn’t run as often as before…and I feel more comfortable when I use the keyboard because now the laptop and the table form an angle. (The erasers acts like the keyboard legs) So…what’s my idea? My idea is to put something like the keyboard legs at the back of the laptop (built-in to the laptop) so people can use them when they need to. You don’t have to be gamers to find them useful…if you enjoy using keyboard legs…you might also want to use the “laptop legs”. While a few centimetres off the desk doesn’t seem to do a lot…it actually helps the cooling by letting air circulate under your laptop, you should find the surface of your table not as hot as before.
Hope you like my idea…thanks for reading my post and have a nice day 🙂
