Thanks a lot. It resolved the heating issues on my 13″ aluminum MB.
It usually ran at 70C/2000 rpm now I have it tamed down to 50C at 4000rpm. Let’s see if it’s going to harm the fan or not.
Would be nice to see Sean’s wish implemented, being abble to set a temperature and let the fan regulate rpm setting.

I have a problem, I was using smc successfully in my macbook pro until I reinstalled MacOSX without setting the fan speed back to the lowest. Now the fans are spinnin in the max speed (that was the last setting before reinstalling macosx). I installed again smc but now in the fan speed setting I don’t see lower speeds. Just 6000 rpm.
Any suggestions to bring the fans back to the apple control?
