Anything could happen in this world…anything…even Blue Screen of Death in a virtual machine! First of all, I am not blaming Microsoft / Windows / Sophos, because this is probably a driver problem. I was playing around and doing some tests on the virtual machines lately, trying out all the major anti-virus software. This incident happened when I install Sophos on my Virtual Machine (thanks Microsoft for making Virtual PC 2007 a FREE product), after the installation, I tried to open the software and take a look of the settings. The screen suddenly turn blue…I was just about to panic before I realized that I am in a virtual machine, so thats not a big deal
I always wanted to take a screen shot of the famous “BSOD” to use it as my wallpapers…now I finally have the chance!
This afternoon I will present my results to Nicola, who is the manager of ITS. Hopefully my findings will help with to strengthen the security of our Uni’s computers
